

Introduction
Wheat Traders Association of Pakistan's core activity is to guide the Government in regard to import and export of wheat relevant to international and domestic markets. It also helps its members and advises them as needed to export or import wheat and wheat products specifically in regard to distortions, market pricing, duties and taxes and other factors. There is no Wheat Association working at the national level in Pakistan. Therefore to have such an association will establish this sector to solve the problems of traders including Millers, Users, Consumers Exporters, Importers of all items falling in the category of Wheat and Wheat Products trading. Wheat is the staple food for a dominant portion of the Pakistan's population. It occupies a supreme position in food grains in Pakistan, as it covers 66% of the total area under food grains and contributes 74% of the total food grains production. The 2009-10 wheat crop is estimated at 24 Million Tons. The Government has a carryover of about 4 MN Tons. Total availability will be 28 MN Tons. It expects to export 2 Mn Tons in 2010. Current support
price to farmers is Rs.2,375/Ton. Annual country consumption is 22 Mn Tons.

Aims and Objectives
To run sections or departments including those relating to exports, imports, statistics, publicity and publications as may be determined from time to time.
To assist our members and denominate information so that they can import or export wheat easily. To provide a platform to advise and negotiate with the Government in procedures and Tariffs in regard to both imports and exports.
To advise our members about important events in the international and domestic wheat markets.
To encourage unity, mutual understanding and high ethical standard amongst its members and endeavor to improve he working conditions and facilitate effective input for achievement of objects for which the Wheat Association has been established.
To provide for help and encourage study and training in technical and commercial matters by granting scholarships, awarding prize - stipends or giving other monetary aids to institutes through such other ways and mean as may be determined from time to time.
